A Canton man has died following a devastating head-on collision in Perry Township, Stark County, after his vehicle was involved in a two-car crash on Navarre Road Thursday afternoon. Authorities have identified the victim as Dylan M. Manack, age 28, according to official crash reporting shared through local law enforcement and confirmed by regional news outlets.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:51 p.m., when emergency crews from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) were dispatched to the scene following multiple emergency calls reporting a serious collision involving two vehicles on a stretch of Navarre Road known for steady commuter traffic.

According to preliminary findings released by investigators, the crash was classified as a head-on collision, though officials have not yet confirmed what led to the vehicles crossing into opposing lanes. OSHP troopers secured the area shortly after arrival, shutting down portions of the roadway to allow emergency personnel to provide medical assistance and begin an initial investigation.

Despite rapid response efforts from first responders, Manack was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the collision was transported for medical evaluation; however, their condition has not been publicly released at this time.

Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation remains ongoing, and several factors are being reviewed, including vehicle positioning, road conditions, and possible speed or impairment issues. As with all fatal traffic incidents, investigators will also analyze physical evidence from the scene, including skid marks, vehicle damage patterns, and roadway impact points.

Navarre Road in Perry Township is a heavily traveled corridor connecting residential areas with commercial and industrial zones in Stark County. Due to the road’s traffic volume and multiple intersections, it has seen its share of serious collisions over the years, prompting repeated calls for caution from local authorities.

Community members expressed shock upon learning of the fatal crash, with tributes to Manack appearing on social media shortly after his identity was released. Friends and acquaintances described him as a young man with strong ties to the Canton area, and many shared condolences for his family during this difficult time.

Officials with OSHP emphasized the importance of safe driving practices, particularly on two-lane roads where head-on collisions can occur in an instant. Drivers are urged to remain alert, avoid distractions, and obey posted speed limits, especially in areas with moderate to heavy traffic flow.

Authorities also reminded the public that crash investigations of this nature often take several weeks to complete. Final reports may include reconstructed accident data and findings regarding contributing circumstances, which will be released once the investigation concludes.

At this time, no charges or citations have been announced in connection with the crash, and officials have not confirmed whether additional contributing factors were involved.

As the Canton and Perry Township communities mourn the loss of Dylan M. Manack, support continues to pour in for his family. His death adds to the ongoing concerns about roadway safety in Stark County, where officials continue efforts to reduce serious and fatal traffic incidents through enforcement and public awareness campaigns.
