Authorities in Jackson, Mississippi, have announced the arrests of two men in connection with a tragic triple homicide that claimed the lives of two sisters and a 2-year-old boy in what police have described as a targeted attack. The case has shocked the community and left family members grieving the devastating loss of three loved ones.

Jackson police identified the victims as 30-year-old Erica Weathersby, 25-year-old Keyana Weathersby, and 2-year-old Camari Givens. Investigators say the three were killed during a violent incident that authorities believe was intentional.

Police have arrested 28-year-old Cornelius Carter and 28-year-old Jordan Carter in connection with the killings. Despite sharing the same last name, authorities have stated that the two men are not related.

According to investigators, the arrests occurred after officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop involving the suspects. The attempted stop reportedly led to a vehicle pursuit before the suspects were ultimately taken into custody without further incident.

During the arrests, officers recovered three firearms believed to be relevant to the investigation. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether those weapons have been directly linked to the fatal shooting through forensic testing, but they remain important pieces of evidence as detectives continue their investigation.

Both Cornelius Carter and Jordan Carter have been charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths of Erica Weathersby, Keyana Weathersby, and young Camari Givens. In addition, one of the suspects faces a separate charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Jackson Police Chief RaShall Brackney addressed the arrests during a press briefing, describing the killings as a deliberate and targeted act of violence. She emphasized the particularly heartbreaking loss of 2-year-old Camari Givens, stating that the child was intentionally included in the attack.

Chief Brackney condemned the violence, characterizing it as a senseless crime that has left lasting pain for the victims’ loved ones and the broader Jackson community. She also commended investigators and officers whose efforts led to the swift identification and apprehension of the suspects.

Authorities have also confirmed the arrest of the girlfriend of one of the men charged in connection with the triple homicide. At this time, investigators have not publicly disclosed the specific charges she faces or explained her alleged role in the case. Officials indicated that additional information will be released as the investigation progresses and court proceedings move forward.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue processing evidence, conducting interviews, and reviewing forensic findings. Authorities have not released a possible motive for the attack, nor have they disclosed additional details about the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The deaths of Erica and Keyana Weathersby, along with little Camari Givens, have deeply affected the Jackson community. Friends, relatives, and neighbors have expressed their sorrow through tributes and messages of support, remembering the victims and mourning lives taken far too soon. The loss of a young child has been especially difficult for many, underscoring the devastating impact of violent crime on families and communities.

As the legal process begins, prosecutors are expected to present evidence supporting the capital murder charges filed against the two suspects. Both men are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

While investigators continue their work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the case, the focus remains on seeking justice for Erica Weathersby, Keyana Weathersby, and 2-year-old Camari Givens. Community members continue to offer prayers and condolences to the grieving family as they face an unimaginable loss and begin the difficult journey toward healing.
