A large police response at Kings Island led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man accused of threatening a restaurant employee with a firearm earlier the same day. Although social media posts incorrectly suggested that a shooting had occurred inside the amusement park, authorities confirmed that no shots were fired at Kings Island, and the incident that prompted the arrest originated at a nearby restaurant.

According to the Mason Police Department, the investigation began on the evening of June 8, 2026, when officers were dispatched to a Culver’s restaurant on Tylersville Road following reports that a customer had allegedly pointed a handgun at a juvenile employee working in the drive-thru. Court records state that the employee believed they were in immediate danger after the suspect allegedly displayed and pointed a loaded firearm during the encounter. Police evacuated approximately 30 people from the restaurant while searching for the suspect.

By the time officers completed their initial search, the suspect had already left the restaurant. Investigators quickly traced the suspect’s vehicle to the parking lot at Kings Island, located a short distance away. Working alongside Kings Island security personnel, officers searched the park and identified the suspect while he was riding one of the amusement park’s attractions. Authorities temporarily paused the ride before safely taking the man into custody without incident.

Police identified the suspect as Caleb Arnez Harris, 26, of West Chester Township. He was charged with aggravated menacing and inducing panic in connection with the alleged confrontation at the restaurant. Following his arrest, Harris was transported to the Warren County Jail. Court records indicate that he later pleaded not guilty, and a judge ordered him to stay away from firearms, the alleged victim, Culver’s, and Kings Island while the case proceeds through the court system.

In a statement provided after the incident, Kings Island’s parent company emphasized that the event was unrelated to park operations. Officials explained that the park’s security team cooperated fully with local law enforcement after learning that officers were searching for a suspect connected to an off-site investigation. Following the brief interruption required for the arrest, the attraction resumed normal operation, and the remainder of the park continued operating as scheduled.

The incident generated considerable attention online, with rumors circulating that an active shooter situation or shooting had occurred inside Kings Island. However, authorities have made clear that those reports are inaccurate. Police have not reported any gunfire, injuries, or threats to park guests during the arrest, and officials stressed that the arrest was carried out in a controlled manner with assistance from park security.

The case remains under investigation as prosecutors move forward with the criminal charges. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the firearm involved or whether it was recovered at the time of Harris’s arrest. Police continue to encourage anyone with information about the original incident at the restaurant to contact investigators.

The incident serves as a reminder of the close coordination between local law enforcement and private security personnel during public safety investigations. Thanks to the rapid response of Mason police and Kings Island security staff, the suspect was taken into custody without injury to guests or employees, and normal park operations resumed shortly afterward.
